Ein Traum über Mitteleuropa

Erika Velická deals with the topic of fear in the wall installation Ein Traum über Mitteleuropa (2017). It was created in parallel with a large-format set-up by the Devil, built on the polarity of a monumental wooden seat and a cave. thematizes the dramatic relationship between observer versus observed. Thoughts, ideas that unfolded around the main idea, Erika Velická recorded through objects of smaller dimensions, drawings and graphics. The installation on the wall consists of a diverse collage set. Velická is interested in border issues, both landscape and social. It critically examines the natural / animal and social / human space. The indefinite intermediate state full of polar inconsistency is often symbolically mediated in her installations by a canine being.
