The exhibition O the Hoe, the Hoe, the Hoe is a show about modes of storytelling. Through the works on display and other artifacts, it seeks to present narratives in which the human occupies the position of one among many relevant subjects. We encounter several new types of narratives that are not merely instruments guiding audiences toward a predetermined conclusion, but autonomous

forms that grant themselves—and all they encompass—a certain degree of independence. If we take a step back for a moment, we realize that such self- generated narratives could one day include the landscape around us. What role the tools of contemporary art will play in this new definition is not yet entirely clear. At first glance, however, it is evident that they co-create a space in which new forms of storytelling function as a central creative principle. This is no different in the context of this exhibition.
